1930s Charak Furniture Co. Mahogany Four Drawer Chest With Pull-Out Shelf. Made in Boston in 1934, this is fantastic piece with clean lines, and then a flourish of Art Nouveau carved panels to discreetly hide shelves on each side. Four drawers below a wide top surface of one piece of wood, and below that - a pull-out shelf. We assume this might be a gentleman’s chest of drawers because of that shelf - perfect place for the finishing touches as you dress, and that top drawer which is not as deep as the others 4” ones. More storage is available on the two shelves on either side, behind some well-carved open woodwork. Measures 43” wide, 20” deep, and 30” tall. In good vintage condition. One clover-like piece of wood is missing below the carved panel on the left. The handles do not appear to be original to the piece. There are light circular marks near the base of, and wider than, each handle. Free local pickup from 11369.
