would prefer to sell this to someone who knows how to deal with this line of WD products....basically, this external hard drive does not have any vents to cool off and the internal chassis in which the drive sits on is melted a bit downward. I can provide clamps to keep the chassis up from bottoming out, the drive needs to be sat upside down for it to work (and I can teach you what I do). It's fully functional with an external power source to run overnight, but any bump on the table would trigger the computer to not find the USB 2.0 connection. The drive is fine, but if an expert wants to open up the drive and upgrade the chassis, that would be ideal for long term use.
