Large vintage abstract cityscape painting by German artist Klaus Oldenburg (b. 1942, Berlin). A striking 1970s urban composition in saturated orange, golden yellow, black and deep burgundy, with a mirrored architectural skyline converging toward a central river or reflective corridor. Oldenburg trained in civil engineering and architecture in Berlin before becoming a full-time artist in the late 1960s, and the strong structural quality of his background is especially evident in these geometric city compositions. He exhibited in Berlin from the early 1970s and was associated with the Kreuzberg artistic community. Heavy raised paint and black linear detailing create a richly textured surface throughout.
