Solid vintage chest of drawers by Mengel Furniture (Louisville, Kentucky), an American furniture maker active mid-century. Substantial, well-built piece with great lines and original hardware. Solid wood construction, original metal hardware, multiple deep drawers, classic mid-century utility design, and a heavy, sturdy build. One drawer is broken but fully intact, with all original pieces included and laid out (see photos). Repair will be straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic woodworking. Cosmetic wear consistent with age and use. This is a great candidate for simple drawer repair and use as-is, light refinishing or paint, or a restoration project with strong bones.
