Antique 1880s French Vieillard & Cie Bordeaux Porcelain Saucer

Rare Antique 19th C. French Vieillard & Cie Bordeaux "Japonisme" Porcelain Saucer. A striking French antique porcelain saucer produced by J. Vieillard & Cie (Bordeaux) during the late 19th Century (c. 1880s). Designed in the height of the Japonisme aesthetic movement, which drew heavy artistic inspiration from traditional Japanese art. Design: Hand-finished underglaze cobalt blue branches with overglaze iron-red cherry blossoms (Prunus), intricate diaper-pattern borders, gilt accents, and a bird perched on a branch. Maker Marks: Stamped on the base with the official green Vieillard Bordeaux coat-of-arms mark, red stamped "DÉPOSÉ 826" design register, and painted artist tally marks. A fantastic piece for antique china collectors, replacement pieces, or as a decorative display saucer.
