Vintage 1982 Osborne 1 External Monitor GM-12

Rare piece of early 1980s computing history! This is a standalone Osborne Computer Corporation Model GM-12 monochrome external monitor, originally sold as an optional upgrade for the portable Osborne 1 computer. ⚠️ CRITICAL DETAILS — PLEASE READ: MONITOR ONLY: This is just the display unit. The main Osborne 1 computer is NOT included. UNTESTED: The proprietary umbilical cord is missing. This monitor draws its power and video feed directly from the computer, so it cannot be standardly tested or plugged into a wall outlet without a custom-built jig. Sold entirely AS-IS. CASE MODIFICATIONS: A previous owner added black hardware screws straight through the lower front lip and side edges of the tan plastic housing. This was done to mechanically lock the case halves together because the brittle, 44-year-old internal plastic screw columns broke inside. It is structurally solid but cosmetically modified. CONDITION: The mainboard internals are exceptionally clean with no visible signs of component fires or leaked capacitors. The fragile glass neck of the CRT tube is intact.
