The height is measured to the top of the headrest when flat (refer to first picture) - Solid wood frame with metal base for extra durability. This also makes the couch heavy to lift - Adjustable headrests adding to more comfort. Headrests are adjustable at any angle from flat to the angle of the backrest of the couch - 2 large cushions that seat 3 people comfortably - Arched armrests adding comfort if leaning your back against them Minor imperfections are shown in the last picture of the couch.
