Taylor electronic scale (does not work consistently)

Taylor electronic scale with a clear glass top. It measures in stones, pounds, or kilograms—-but I can’t get it to work consistently even with new batteries. It uses two CR2032 batteries. Maybe someone else can figure it out? Hate for it to go to landfill. Pickup at the St Lawrence Market downtown Toronto.
