Amethyst Crystal

Here's a lovely amethyst crystal in a display case. The text on the case describes it as originating from the Greek word for 'unbreakable' and being composed of SiO2. It's a trigonal crystal system, usually hexagonal in shape. A great piece for any crystal collection!
