Vintage Kundo Anniversary Clock
$220
Kundo is the trademark name for clocks produced by Kieninger & Obergfell, a German company founded in 1899 in St. Georgen, nestled in the historic Black Forest region—an area renowned for its clockmaking tradition. The name “Kundo” is a blend of the founders’ names: Kieninger und Obergfell.
Kundo is best known for its 400-day clocks, also called anniversary clocks, which use a torsion pendulum mechanism. These clocks can run for over a year on a single winding and feature multi-pronged pendulums with ball ends that rotate rather than swing.
These clocks became especially popular in the 1950s and 1960s, during a boom in home décor and interest in elegant, long-lasting timepieces.
This stunning vintage Kundo 400-day torsion pendulum anniversary clock features a rich red dial with Roman numerals, ornate gold-tone hands, and a beautifully preserved brass and glass case.
This particular model features a striking red dial with ornate floral detailing is a rare variation among Kundo anniversary clocks, making it a standout piece for collectors and vintage décor lovers.
