Vintage mid century hand crafted Saint Louis crystal table lamp. Stamped/marked to the underside with a circular stamp “Crystal St Louis France.” It was extremely difficult to capture the maker’s mark in a photograph. The Saint Louis crystal lamps are hand crafted luxury French lighting pieces made by Europe’s oldest crystal maker, founded in 1586. The manufacturers became royal cristallerie in 1781 in the Vallée de Munztal, France. Every single piece is mouth blown, hand cut, hand engraved and hand engraved and hand decorated by master artisans - many of whom hold the elite title of “Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsmen in France). Owned by the luxury house Hermes since 1995, Saint Louis maintains ultra traditional production methods and strict manual quality controls where only a fraction of manufactured pieces pass inspection. Pieces typically command high luxury prices. Very good condition. No chips or cracks. Works wonderfully. No issues. Any wear commensurates with the age. Heavy.
