Gorgeous Purple/Black Vintage 1930s Desk/Vanity

Gorgeous purple & black grain. Completely unique. You will not find another like it. 1930s solid wood desk. It is with such a heavy heart that I have to part with it. This was such a labour of love. This did not turn out how I envisions or expected. IT TURNED OUT FAR BETTER! I have tried so hard to recreate this in other pieces & have been unable to do so. But not before I finished a stool & mirror to match it.. The stool did not come with it but I finished it the same way & found the top original material, which I was going to change actually worked very well with the end finished. So I kept it as it was. This is an EXTREMELY heavy & well-made piece. It is all tongue & groove with no screws/nails etc. other than the original hardware, for which I just polished up & did not change. The right side is 4 really good sized, roomy drawers. The left side, although it looks the same as the right on the outside is actually 3 drawers with the bottom drawer being 1 deep double drawer. The middle drawer is also very roomy with decent depth to it. The middle drawer contains the metal stamp of the furniture company. All drawers glide easily in & out with no trouble as if it were new. They do not stick at all! I did not touch the sides of the drawers. I am the second owner & the first family/owner obviously took extremely good care of it, as did I. There is absolutely nothing broken on this, however there are a couple of small "character spots", that does not compromise the piece whatsoever. I could have sanded them out but I chose not to to keep some original character & a few of the bumps it's gone through in the almost 100 years it's been around. They are very minor & hardly noticeable with the finish that is on it. This will be hard to part with & one of my favorite pieces I've ever refinished however I just do not have the room for it as lifes circumstances have drastically changed. I've owned approx 5-6 yrs. I also painstakingly searched for a mirror that I could refinish the same way. And I did find one. A very well made mirror for which the wood frame of it matches the desk & the stool legs. Nor will I be much help in moving it as I have a bad back. You will need 2 sttong (& careful) ppl to move. I will wrap it so when moving the corners will be protected. It would be easier to take all the drawers out as they will definitely add to the weight to the whole piece. I certainly can help bring down the drawers & will also wrap those for protection. However if you wish to keep the drawers in I can wrap them very well so that they will not come out while moving. The choice is yours. You will more than likely need a picked up truck.
