This substantial decorative piece features a stunning high-relief carving of Lan Caihe, one of the revered Eight Immortals in Taoist mythology and the patron deity of gardeners and florists. Design & Artistry: The central figure is depicted in flowing celestial robes adorned with incised starburst patterns, floating gracefully through stylized clouds. She carries her signature attribute: a finely detailed woven basket overflowing with flowers. The relief work is set against an exceptionally crisp, geometric diaper-pattern background and is framed by a traditional meander (key-fret) border. Condition Details: This panel is in very good vintage condition with only minor, expected surface wear consistent with age. The carved details remain remarkably sharp, with no major chips, cracks, or missing pieces to the front relief. The reverse side features a traditional plain black-lacquered backing and comes equipped with an ornate, sturdy brass hanger mounted at the top center, making it ready to display on your wall. The back shows light surface scuffs and a hairline age line in the upper-left lacquer finish, which is typical for vintage lacquerware of this era and does not impact the structural integrity of the piece.
