Trek 2.1 Road Bike – size 54.
$750
Looking for a bike that’s fast, reliable, and won’t complain about hills? This Trek 2.1 might be your new best friend.
Specs & Upgrades:
* Lightweight alpha aluminum frame with carbon forks
* Shimano 105 groupset (shifters, front & rear derailleurs, cassette)
* Upgraded crank and triple chainring — climb hills like you suddenly have strong life choices
* Continental Gatorskin 28mm tires (never had a puncher on this bike, I ride in downtown Toronto)
* Dual-function pedals (flat + clip-in, great for zipping around downtown, and then clip in for some speed on the waterfront trail)
* Loud and proud CatEye bell (discreet but assertive)
* Carbon bottle cages (a little little icing on the cake)
* Bike computer mount
* Front & rear lights included (seen, be seen, be safe, be cool)
Extras:
* Specialized saddle bag with a multitool: +$5 (basically a steal)
* Top tube bag for the price of a double-double ☕
* TACX indoor smart trainer: $50 (ride all winter while judging the weather)
Originally purchased from Duke’s Cycle (now Trek Downtown).
This bike has been well ridden and really well cared for. It’s kind of like a loyal dog, but doesn’t slow down with age. Selling only because I need to make room for kids’ bikes (apparently they get equal rights to the locker room, never thought the day will come that I have to share the space).
Perfect for:
* Fast commuting
* Indoor training
* Getting into cycling
* Casual cruising with the illusion of athletic ambition, or just look cool
Price: $750 OBO
Don’t be shy—make an offer. Worst case, we both get a good laugh.
Main goal: see this bike go to a good home where it’ll keep bringing joy (and maybe a little leg pain).
