70s Andean Crossbody Woven Tapestry Bag
$60
Vintage Andean handmade woven crossbody bag in an earth tone artisanal tapestry textile with bold geometric patterning and heavy fringe trim. Bag is likely from the 60s or 70s and likely from Peru. The palette mixes bold burgundy red, white, black and brown shades. The fabric is coarse and thick textured yarn, likely wool.
This piece features a woven patterned shoulder strap, and red yarn tassel accents. Bag closes with a soft flap closure that secures on two brass bells which jingle as you move, a classic folk accent from 70s Peruvian bags. Interior is lined in burgundy cotton. Lightweight and easy to wear crossbody or on the shoulder.
Bag is in very good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Tassels show some curling and wear.
Functional dimensions of the bag measure about 11.5" x 10.5". The long tassels at the bottom add about another 10". Strap drop measures about 15.5", and strap total length is about 35".
