HIMI Jelly Gouache 24 x 80mL - Discontinued Item

Price: $30 firm. This is a set of HIMI gouache paint in a pink plastic carrying case. It is a discontinued item. The set has 24 colours, with each cup being in the extra large 80mL size. --- The size of the paint cups is what makes this older set so special. Their current paint sets only have 30mL cups. A current 24-set of HIMI gouache costs appx $35. 24 colours x 30mL = 720mL total. That's 20.6mL of paint per dollar. This set has 24 colours x 80mL = 1920mL total. At $30, that's 64mL of paint per dollar... so more than 3X as much paint per dollar The retail price for this set used to be around $70-90. Math aside, this set is huge and it's a good deal, haha. --- NOTE: Because this is a first-generation version of the HIMI jelly paints, the paint formula does not contain any anti-mould ingredient. To keep your paints mould-free, you have a few different options: - You can buy the official HIMI Gouache Spray, which is designed to prevent mould and mildew growth. - OR add 2 drops of isopropyl alcohol per paint cup, and stir with a toothpick. - OR add 2 drops of clove oil per paint cup, and stir with a toothpick. - OR just allow the paints to fully dry out, and use them like dry watercolour pans. The paint reactivates when you add water, and it can be lifted with a damp paintbrush. I have tested both the isopropyl alcohol method, and just allowing the paints to dry out, and both methods have worked for me. If you don't want to do any of those methods, I would suggest NOT double-dipping with the dirty paint brush into the paint cups, as this will help to keep the paints clean for longer. Last thing I'll mention is that if your paints dry out accidentally, they CAN be rescued! Just fill the cracked dry cups with water, leave them overnight, then mix the paint with a toothpick.
