Vintage 50s 60s Hand Knit Cowichan Sweater

Incredible true vintage 1950s/ 1960s handknit Cowichan style raw wool heavy zip-front sweater. Heirloom-quality piece featuring striking eagle or Thunderbird designs on both the front and the back. Perfect as a super warm winter layer or as a sweater jacket. I was told that it's an authentic Cowichan by the previous owner but can't be sure. Sweater is knit with thick and rugged raw wool yarn, in light grey, slate grey and very dark brown. It closes with a heavy-duty mid-century Talon metal zipper (horseshoe pull) that is in smooth working condition. Sweater has a shawl collar and ribbed rolled cuffs. Sweater is in very good vintage condition with some signs of age. Please note that the raw wool has natural texture and dye variations, which results in darker grey spots in some of the light grey areas. Sweater is unisex and fits like a slim men's Medium or a relaxed men's Small.
