Vintage Mid Century Original Hand Colored Etchings

These are framed portrait artworks numbered limited editions from approximately the 1950's, featuring "Gina" and "Jose". They have the signature "Roger Hebbelinck" visible. The frames are ornate and gold-toned, and were professionally framed at a high end shop in Edmonton when my Grandmother returned from a trip to New Mexico and Arizona sometime in the 1950's . Some unique pieces for your wall! You are buying two original Roger Hebbelinck etching titled “Gina” and the other "Jose". I believe that this is print 150 of 350, and the other is print 247 of 350. The actual etching is 20” x 16”, and with the professional framing and matting they each measure 26" x 30". There is some toning and foxing on the matting of the "Gina" picture, but it can be inexpensively replaced or cleaned. Remember, these are over 70 years old The etchings are in excellent condition and the pictures are a good indication of the condition. These wonderful etchings will make a great addition to your collection! Roger Hebbelinck was born in 1912 on August 12 in Brussels, Belgium. Studied drawing at the Academie Des Beaux Arts in Brussels. He also studied oil painting, landscape, human anatomy and design, and watercolor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. He is represented in many fine collections and is well-known for his aquatint etchings. Roger Hebbelinck was a highly prolific Belgian artist who produced these hand-colored portrait etchings (such as "Gina" and "Jose") in limited-edition batches—typically runs of 350. UNFRAMED versions of these etchings frequently sell at auctions and antique shops for $50 to $100 CAD. The cost for framing like this now days would be $400 alone. You can add them to your collection for $75 each, so $150 for the pair. I feel they should stay together as a pair like they have for the last 70 years.
