Verified collector's item #116,637/250,000 (circa 2001) - a vintage, mint-condition piece of cinema history with 2 decks of fully custom designer cards with original, collectible tin. 2 complete 56-card decks of cards (52 designer playing cards, 2 wild cards and 2 instructional cards per deck). There are two seperate themes featuring different card backings as well as fully custom faces that are different depending on the deck (e.g. Sauron as Ace of Hearts in one deck, Gandalf as Ace of Hearts in the other). Slip-closed tin holds two complete decks of mint condition premium playing cards, showcasing exciting and vivid stills from Peter Jackson’s The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) which was the first high-budget and visually stunning adaptation that captured the global imagination and defined the franchise for modern audiences. A special edition item printed by The United States Playing Card Co. (Cincinnati, OH). This was a limited edition run as indicated by the stamping on the tin. Copyright date of 2001, all cards in mint condition and the gloss feels indistinguishable from a newly opened deck because of careful handling. This tin has only been opened 4-5 times and unlike a sealed tin, this set allows full verification of authenticity since the maker's stamp is found inside the tin (see photo for closeup). There is very minor shelf wear on the outside of the tin.
