Antique 1881 Stoneware Canning Jar 🐞

Antique 1881 stoneware canning jar which was often used for food storage in the late 19th and early 20th century. Stamped/marked on the top of the lid. Really difficult to photograph the markings on the lid. Marked #44 to the underside of the base. Two tone glazed design with a cream body and brown top. This jar has a distinctive embossed lid with a wire bail handle for sealing and carrying. Good condition considering the age. No cracks. Normal imperfections. Any wear commensurates with the age. Approximately 6.5” in diameter across the bottom of the jar and 11” tall excluding the wire bail handle.
