Original Oil Painting by J. McClelland

Original mid century oil painting on board. Depicts a vibrant European-style street scene with a figure and flower stalls. This impressionist work is signed lower right by the artist J. McClelland (possibly an early work by local Calgary artist Jeanette McClelland?). The painting is currently housed in an older gold-toned wooden frame. Vintage frame shows typical wear for it's age, and is in good overall condition. Painting itself is in perfect condition. The color palette is dominated by warm yellows, oranges, and reds, contrasted with cool blue and purple tones in the architecture. Because of the numerous bright colours, this painting would fit in with many different colour schemes. The phone number on the back of the frame suggests it was framed in the 1950's or early 1960's.
