Borje Salming #21 - Toronto Maple Leafs, Defense, played 16 seasons. One of the first European players to make an impact in the NHL. He was definitely a trailblazer, in his first NHL debut, in 1973 vs. Buffalo, he was named first star. He was a huge fan favorite and was named to six consecutive NHL All Star Teams. He was one of the best two --way Defenseman in the league. He is the All Time Franchise leader in assists with 620. He became the first European and Swedish born player, inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1996. In 2017 the NHL named him one of the greatest players in the first Century of the league.
