Fostoria was a prominent American glassware manufacturer known for its high-quality crystal and various patterns. The Fostoria Glass Company was founded in Fostoria, Ohio, in 1887, and later moved to Moundsville, West Virginia, where it operated until it became defunct in 1986. Identification: Early Fostoria tableware pieces often featured needle etched or wheel cut decorations. The company also produced a well-known quality, clear crystal glass, particularly in the "American" pattern, which was cubist-prismatic in form.
