Measurements can be seen in the photos. Beautiful vintage Māori Tekoteko wall carving handcrafted in Rotorua, New Zealand by Moana Wood Carvings, likely dating from the 1970s–1980s. This richly detailed piece features traditional Māori-inspired carving motifs with striking iridescent Paua shell eyes and a carved patu (mere club) held across the chest. Carved from solid native New Zealand Matai wood, the sculpture displays a warm reddish-brown tone with a smooth polished finish and fine natural grain. The expressive facial features and intricate surface carving give the piece strong character and authentic folk art appeal. The original maker’s labels and “LR” stamp remain intact on the reverse, and the plaque is ready to hang with its original mounting hole. An excellent collectible for lovers of Pacific Island art, Polynesian carvings, global folk artifacts, or Mid-Century eclectic décor.
