1953 Blue Bird Confectionery Harry Vincent Limited Chest

This Blue Bird Confectionery tin (Model 6401/30) is a vintage decorative metal toffee chest manufactured by Harry Vincent Limited in Hunnington, Worcestershire, England, during the mid-20th century. It is a brown, green, and gold lithographed treasure chest with a brown key serving as part of the fastener (please note that this part has been damaged as shown in the 6th photo). It features embossed medallion scenes that include commemorative profile portraits of Queen Elizabeth II that form an intricate and historically pleasing wall on all four sides. Aesthetically intriguing mix of ornate gold design sitting in the center of a rectangular backdrop of green adorned by semi-circular geometric brown with concentric black half-rings along an inner perimeter transition into a larger brown arena with a leathery pattern. An outer perimeter of gold leafy tendrils, beads, and rods complements and finishes the lid design. The opening of the chest is a delightful experience revealing the reverse effect of the raised relief with a bit of early patina on the left bottom edge as well as at lower right center of the lid.
