Vintage Sheffield Steel Table Knives – Set of 12 – Bakelite Hand

Beautiful vintage set of 12 stainless steel table knives from Sheffield, England, with classic Bakelite handles. Elegant tapered blades, great mid-century design. 6 knives in their original "Sheffield Steel Products Ltd" (SSP) box, "Stainless Steel Table Cutlery," and 6 additional matching knives (no box), stamped Barclay Brothers, Sheffield England. (the "1795" on the box refers to the trademark's original registration date, not the manufacture date). 12 knives total, cream Bakelite handles. Never (or rarely) used; stored for decades in my late mother's home. Note: as she was a smoker, the knives and box carry a faint smell of cigarette smoke. Should air out and clean up nicely, but wanted to be upfront. No cracks or chips in the Bakelite, no rust on the blades. Queen and Lansdowne (main intersection) Must pick up.
