This lens has been my go-to for figure skating competitions and portraits at distance over the past year. It handles fast action well and the constant f/2.8 aperture is a real advantage in the dim lighting of skating rinks. It is sharp from 70mm all the way to 200mm and has served me well for rinkside shooting and outdoor portraits where I like to keep some distance between myself and my subject. Worth knowing, this lens trades blows with the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III in real world sharpness tests and outperforms the IS II. L glass quality without the L glass price. I am upgrading to the G2 version, which is the only reason this is for sale.
