Rare Vintage Radford Handcraft Pottery Woodpecker Vase
$300
Beautiful and unusual Radford Handcraft Pottery vase featuring two hand-modelled, hand-painted woodpeckers perched against a naturalistic tree-trunk and root-form vase.
The piece has wonderful Art Deco-era character, with highly detailed colorful birds in blue, green, yellow and rust tones and a softly weathered, crackle-glazed tree-trunk finish.

This is an unusually charming and substantial piece of Radford pottery. Similar Radford twin-woodpecker vases have appeared at specialist British auctions, with examples attributed to Paul Dubois for Radford. I have not represented the designer attribution as definitive, but it is an interesting feature for collectors.
Condition: Very good overall for its age. Both modeled birds are intact. Please examine all photographs carefully, particularly the underside/base where the damage is visible.
Dimensions: 8”H × 9”L × 6”D.
A wonderful statement piece for a collector of Radford, British Art Pottery, Art Deco ceramics, or bird/woodland-themed pottery.
