This vibrant piece is a high-quality modern reproduction of a famous early 1900s lithograph advertisement for the historic "Ottoman" Tobacco Factory. Founded in St. Petersburg by Yakov Egiz in 1882, Ottoman made history as the very first enterprise in the Russian Empire to produce cigarettes made exclusively from imported Turkish tobacco.
The artwork features a highly detailed, character-rich illustration of two traditional Zaporozhian Cossacks sharing a companionable smoke. In the bottom corner, the table displays the factory's signature, high-end products: the legendary "Tsarskiye" (Imperial) cigarette box on the left, and the "Yubek" box on the right. The text at the base reads "С.ПЕТЕРБУРГЪ" (St. Petersburg), printed in the authentic pre-1918 Russian Cyrillic alphabet.
