The clock has the original Hentschel’s of Waterloo identification tag, reading: Hentschel’s of Waterloo – Since 1890 Fine FurnitureModel No. 3000Walnut FinishMovement: VW 6/373 Chime Hentschel’s was a well-known Waterloo furniture company. Founded mid-century (with origins tracing back earlier), the company became renowned for building heirloom floor, wall, and mantle clocks. The original label makes this a particularly interesting piece for anyone who appreciates Canadian furniture and Waterloo history.
