The Bontempi BN8 is a vintage reed organ, popular in the 1970s, designed for home use. It uses an internal electric fan to force air across metal reeds, producing sound acoustically. When a key is pressed, it lifts a lever, allowing air to escape through a specific reed. The fan is the source of a constant, noticeable background noise when the organ is powered on. The instrument is entirely mechanical, with electricity used solely to power the fan. It features a standard keyboard for melodies and chord buttons on the left side.
