The Valiant Blue Brother Opus 895 is a classic, Japanese-made manual portable typewriter produced in the 1960s; it is known for its robust build, reliable mechanical action, and lightweight design. This particular typewriter is most likely made in 1967, according to its serial number H7695034. The body’s finish has a chip in one corner and a few small scratches on the back, as shown in the photos. The platen (rubber roller) is mostly clean but has a couple of dots of old white-out. The paper guides also have some caked-on white-out, as shown in the photos. Please review the photos carefully to see any deficiencies. This is a fully operational vintage typewriter in good used condition. It has no sticky keys but needs a replacement ribbon. The Opus 895 uses standard universal ½ inch twin-spool ribbons, which are available from Etsy typewriter ribbon shops. The photos of the text on paper show that all the keys are functional. Its longevity would benefit from servicing. The original charcoal grey case with chrome hinges and catch is in average used condition for its age.
