Antique , Stamped, Japanese Satsuma Moriage Porcelain Tea Set of 3 Pcs, Intricate Hand Painted , Heavily Gold Guilt decorated , 3D , Raised Textures, and vibrant Polychrome Enamels, which are hallmarks of high-quality Satsuma pottery from this era. Highly decorated "export style" were produced in workshops in cities like Kyoto and Tokyo for Western markets.
Dating from the Meiji Period (1868-1912). and were often exported to the West during that time.
Style: Distinctive cream-colored earthenware body with a finely crackled glaze (crazing), heavily decorated with Polychrome Enamels and extensive Gilding.
Design: The scenes depict multiple arhats Buddhist disciples known as rakan in Japanese) , which are enlightened figures in Buddhism, portrayed with serene expressions and often highlighted with gold halos.
Authenticity: Satsuma ware from this era is known for its intricate detail and was often produced for export, making it highly collectible.
Mint Condition, no chips or cracks.
Maker's marks, on the bottom in red or gold.
These red-and-gold Hand-painted marks are common on ceramics produced during the Meiji period (late 19th to early 20th century).
