Vintage Portmeirion Crystalline Pitcher – Made in England
$10
Add a stunning piece of British art pottery history to your home! This beautiful art pottery pitcher comes from the highly collectible Starfire Collection by Portmeirion Pottery, designed by artist Julian Teed in Stoke-on-Trent, England during the late 20th century.✨ The Story Behind the Piece:What makes the Starfire collection so incredibly special is its formulation. It features a solid, smooth pastel jade green base contrasted against a heavily textured, opalescent white crystalline drip glaze cascading down the rim. Because of the complex firing process used in the UK factory, no two pitchers from this line are exactly identical.
The piece is in gorgeous vintage condition with incredibly vibrant colors. It does have one tiny, shallow flea bite chip on the top outer pouring edge (clearly documented in the final photo). It is very minor, non-structural, and could easily be sanded down smoothly with fine-grit sandpaper or filled with a dab of clear glaze.Because of the minor chip, it is priced accordingly and makes the ultimate statement vase for fresh-cut flowers, pampas grass, or display on an open kitchen shelf!
