Ornate Wm Rogers Silverplate Candle Holders (Set of 2)

Part of an estate sale. Up for sale is a beautiful pair of ornate silver-plated candlesticks manufactured by the renowned Wm. Rogers company. These pieces feature a heavy, intricate design with floral scrolls, scalloped edges, and a pierced/lattice-work gallery at the top. Hallmarks: Stamped on the underside: "Wm. Rogers", "1520", and "S.P. LEAD". Design: Deeply embossed Victorian-style motifs with a wide, stable pedestal base. Construction: These are weighted with lead (S.P. Lead), giving them a very sturdy, high-quality feel on a dining table or mantle. Condition: Good vintage condition. They show a lovely aged patina (tarnish) which can be polished to a high shine or left as-is for a rustic antique look. There is some minor surface wear and wax residue consistent with age. Measurements: Dimensions: 14cm H, 11cm W. Pair weigh approx 2 kilos. Well made, solid and presentable pair. Single lead cast, weighing nearly a kilogram each. Decorated with octagonal plain silver panels, interspersed with scrolls at the base. Sconce well designed to reflect candlelight. Clean and polished to a mirror finish, ready for your home.
