Vintage Canadian Pacific Train Oil Painting By H.N.Tuggle C.1956
$125
Original oil on board painting by Henry Noble Tuggle.
Features a Canadian Pacific passenger train winding through the mountainous Canadian landscape.
The artist's notation on the back reveals this scene was actually painted somewhere in the Bow River Valley, west of calgary.
The painting is signed in the lower right corner, and was completed in 1956.
It's in good overall condition, however there is a yellow mark above one of the mountains please see pic #6.
The frame is old, likely original.
I think it suits the painting but it does show typical wear, considering it's 70 years old. There are some rubs, paint losses, etc.
The painting is fairly large, measuring 18 x 35 inches (20 x 36 3/4 including frame).
To me, this scene represents a 70 year old local snapshot of the CPR's history in this region.
There are some very intricate details within the painting, such as the silhouettes of the passengers in the windows, and the writing and subtle details on the train.
Perfect painting for a train enthusiast.
