The Word Is Murder by Anthony Horowitz Book

Intriguing novel by Anthony Horowitz. Book has original price of $18.00. The Word Is Murder is a 2017 meta-fictional mystery novel by British author Anthony Horowitz, and the first book in the Hawthorne and Horowitz series. The Premise: The Crime: Wealthy Diana Cowper visits a London funeral parlor to plan her own service. Six hours later, she is found strangled to death in her home. The Partnership: Disgraced former police detective Daniel Hawthorne is assigned to the case. He hires author Anthony Horowitz to shadow him and write a book about the investigation, offering a 50/50 split of the proceeds. The Meta Twist: Horowitz writes himself into the story as a main character—acting as a frustrated "Watson" to Hawthorne’s abrasive, brilliant "Holmes".
