This is a basically new Epson Perfection scanner. It is a small scanner that fits standard size papers, and has a high resolution (4800 dpi, optical) for digitizing documents into crisp, clear images onto computers. Use the included Epson ScanSmart software for scanning faster, saving scans to cloud storage, stitching oversized images, and more. High-rise and removable lid is suitable for scanning photo albums, books, artwork, illustrations, and more. We bought this recently for a home-office setup, however got a nice printer/scanner combo on sale, so this wasn't necessary. Plus, it's meant more for photographs, with the included software.
