Japanese Art Wall Tiles

This wooden plaque is adorned with 5 ceramic tiles, each featuring a different Otsu-e painting. Otsu-e is a form of Japanese folk art that originated in the city of Otsu, during the Edo period (1603-1868). They were often sold as souvenirs to travellers, along the Tokaido road. These ones are vintage, they appear to be handpainted, and they're signed by the artist. The tiles and plaque are in excellent condition. The wood is discolored from age (see pictures), however, everything is as it should be. These are perfect for collectors, or anyone looking to enhance their home decor with cultural art. Each tile measures 3 1/4 inches across, and the wall hanging plaque measures 3 1/2 x 22 1/2. View or pick up in Glenbrook, SW
