Vintage Danish Teak Wall Unit – Kai Kristiansen (c. 1960)

Vintage Danish Teak Wall Unit – Kai Kristiansen (c. 1960) Authentic midcentury Danish teak wall system, originally purchased from a specialty modern furniture store in Vancouver and dated to circa 1960. This is a modular wall unit designed by Kai Kristiansen, one of the key figures in Danish modern design. The system includes: • 12 teak shelves • 1 teak desk / work surface • Suite of matching teak bookcases / cabinets • 4 original black metal wall rails for mounting and support All components are fully modular and reconfigurable — shelves, desk, and cabinets can be arranged to suit your space and needs (office, living room, studio, or library). Material: Solid teak Era: Midcentury / Danish modern Designer: Kai Kristiansen Origin: Denmark Measurements (approx. in centimetres – to be confirmed): • 4 Wall rails (each): 175H × 3W • Shelves: 85.5W × 24D • Desk surface: 85.5W × 44.5D • Cabinet(s): 85.5W × 32D × 23H Condition Very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age. Rich teak grain and colour. Structurally solid and complete with rails. Why this piece matters Kai Kristiansen’s modular wall systems from the late 1950s–60s are highly sought after for their clean lines, warm teak, and flexibility. His work is increasingly collectible, and complete systems like this — with desk and original rails — are becoming harder to find. Price: $5,100.00 Pickup required. Payment by Interac etransfer or cash at pickup. Item released once payment is received. Happy to answer questions or provide additional photos.
