Antique Swiss Army KMV Wooden Military Crate Vintage Storage

Very interesting antique Swiss Army military wooden crate with original markings, hardware and paper shipping documentation. This substantial, heavy wooden box is believed to be an original Swiss Army military storage/transport crate, marked “KMV No. 18.” KMV refers to the Swiss Kriegsmaterialverwaltung (War Material Administration), the organization responsible for the storage, maintenance and distribution of Swiss military matériel. The crate features beautifully aged solid wood construction, reinforced lid boards and heavy original metal locking hardware. It retains several fascinating original markings, including faded military/stencilled lettering, an old orange warning label and an original paper transport/weight tag showing Brutto 33 kg / Netto 28 kg (gross/net weight). The exact original contents cannot be confirmed, but the construction and KMV markings are consistent with Swiss military storage/transport crates, including crates historically used for military ammunition and equipment.
