I am selling 1995 Fortress of Louisbourg Stamp Booklets (Canada Post #1551b / BK175) in excellent condition. Original, pristine-condition Canada Post stamp booklets issued in 1995 to commemorate the 275th Anniversary of the founding of the Fortress of Louisbourg, Nova Scotia. These are highly collectible philatelic items that bridge the gap between Canadian history and art. Item Specifics: * Catalog Number: Scott #1551b (Booklet Pane of 10) / Arpin #BK175. * Year of Issue: 1995. * Format: Each booklet contains a pane of 10 stamps (two identical strips of five). * Design: When viewed together, the stamps create a stunning continuous panoramic view of the 18th-century French fortress. The design cleverly uses "transparent line work" to show reconstructed portions of the site alongside historical archaeological profiles. * Condition: Excellent/Mint. The booklets are intact, and the stamps are in "full bleed" format (no margins), maintaining the integrity of the panoramic artwork. Historical Significance: The Fortress of Louisbourg was a key 18th-century French settlement and military stronghold. These stamps depict the harbor, the Dauphin Gate, the King’s Bastion, and the surrounding New England barracks, reflecting the complex Anglo-French history of Cape Breton Island. Why Buy These? Whether you are a serious philatelist looking to complete a 1990s collection or a history enthusiast interested in Atlantic Canadian heritage, these booklets are a beautiful piece of preservation.
