Antique Wooden Carved Door Accent Piece
$1,250
An 18th-century architectural fragment from a Shekhawati merchant haveli, carved from solid teak with a cusped mehrab arch and original hand-forged iron hardware. The surface preserves centuries of layered history—traces of blue and green pigment beneath lime-wash patina, weathered through age and use. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery and substantial weight (approximately 250 lbs) reflect both the decorative ambition and defensive function of Rajasthani merchant architecture during the late-Mughal period.
Preserved in unrestored condition, this piece retains the sculptural presence and material integrity of Shekhawati’s historic haveli compounds.
Dimensions: 164 cm (H) × 93 cm (W) × 10 cm (D)Origin: Shekhawati, Rajasthan, circa 1700sCondition: Structurally sound; original surface patina intact
