Wendell Mountain Landscape Painting

Vintage Mid-Century Alpine Mountain Oil Painting Canvas Signed WENDELL 24x20 Vintage Original Mid-Century Alpine Mountain Lake Landscape Oil Painting — Signed "Wendell" (24" x 20") Description: Up for auction is a beautiful, original mid-to-late 20th-century impressionist landscape oil painting featuring a striking alpine mountain scene. The artwork showcases a dramatic snow-capped peak towering over a serene mountain lake, beautifully framed in the foreground by textured evergreens and detailed white birch trees. This piece features fantastic, heavy impasto texture and distinctive palette knife craftsmanship reminiscent of the classic "wet-on-wet" speed-painting techniques popularized in the 1970s and 1980s. It is hand-signed "Wendell" in the lower-left corner, a highly collectible commercial studio trade name from the retro home decor era. The back of the canvas features its original, authentic construction elements, including the classic factory masking tape border and a white-washed wood presentation border/frame—ready to hang right out of the box. Perfect for adding a warm, authentic mid-century vibe to a living room, office, or cozy cabin retreat! Condition Report: Excellent vintage condition. The canvas tension remains great. The paint layers are vibrant with beautiful depth, showing no major cracking, flaking, or discoloration. The back shows normal, age-appropriate wear and coloration on the canvas and tape.
