Orange Lamp Thing

This is that lamp. This thing is a giant, articulated floor lamp the color of a very confident clementine. It’s like someone took a classic architect’s desk lamp, fed it nothing but vitamin C and encouragement, and it grew six feet tall. The arm is all bright orange metal, jointed with springs and bolts, so you can angle it over your chair, your sofa, your book, your soul. The shade is a big orange dome, like a peeled orange segment that decided it was done being sticky and wanted a career in lighting. It does not whisper “subtle.” It walks into the room and says, “Orange you glad I’m here?” You will hate that joke, and then you will make it to every single guest.
