Ehlen Johansson for IKEA. Retro coffee table model 'Strind'

A little piece of IKEA design history. The STRIND coffee table was designed by Swedish designer Ehlén Johansson and dates back to IKEA’s earlier design collections. Now discontinued, it’s a great example of the playful, modernist pieces the Swedish retailer was producing at the time. Two circular tiers of white glass supported by a sleek chrome-plated steel frame, with four caster wheels. A minimalist design with a distinctly space-age influence. This is the smaller, 29.5” version. In good vintage condition overall, with some faint surface scratches on the glass, consistent with age and use.
