This is a General Service Badge awarded to Canadian veterans of World War II who volunteered to serve outside Canada. It's made of metal with a shield design featuring maple leaves and a crown. The back has "853228" and "STERLING DM CO" stamped on it, along with text about misuse. It comes with its original button attachment. A nice collectors piece .
