Supporting a family caring for two girls with special needs

Hi! My name is Jess and I am an in-home and in-community respite support worker for two amazing girls who both have autism and require substantial support in their day-to-day lives. This family is in need of financial support, which is why I am starting this fundraiser. Read below to learn more about the girls, their situation, and their current needs. Here is what the mother of the two girls has to say about her daughters and what the money would be helping with: "Help My Two Beautiful Daughters Get the Care and Stability They Deserve My daughters are my life, my joy, and my entire world. All I want is for them to be happy, healthy, safe, and given the same opportunities as any other child. I’m creating this fundraiser because right now, I need help providing them with the essential care and stability they deserve. Why We Need Support Both of my daughters are severely autistic with complex support needs. Their limited communication and high risk of elopement make everyday life extremely challenging. As their full-time caregiver and a single mom, I spend every moment ensuring their safety and supporting their needs — which makes regular employment impossible. Venturing out into the community requires each girl to have a one-on-one support to keep them safe. Government funding provides only a fraction of the care our family truly needs, and respite services are extremely limited. Who You’re Helping Despite their challenges, my daughters are the most loving, creative, and musically gifted kiddos you could ever meet. They deserve to be known for their strengths, not just their disabilities. My younger daughter is fun-loving, sweet, and full of personality. She loves school, stuffed toys, dolls, and makeup. I’m so proud of her progress with communication and her growing independence. My older daughter has an incredible musical talent — she can play any song on the keyboard by ear, with no formal training, and she sings beautifully. She struggles with her mental health, making daily life and school extremely difficult, but she continues to persevere with strength that inspires me every day.
