Free Common milkweed seeds Support butterflies 🦋🦋

Free to anyone! Common milkweed is a crucial food source and habitat for monarch butterflies, providing nectar for adults and the only food for their caterpillars. It also supports a wide variety of other wildlife, including bees and other beneficial insects, provides nesting material for birds, and has a beautiful, fragrant flower. The best place to plant common milkweed seeds is in an open area with full sun and well-draining soil. Choose a location where you don't mind the plant spreading, as it can be aggressive due to its rhizomatous roots, such as a back border, a corner of a garden, or a naturalized area, or grow common milkweed in large containers and remove the large seed pods in the fall before they split open and release seeds. Do not plant it in your small flower garden as it can take all over the space!! You can start seeds in the fall, by sowing them directly outdoors, or in late winter/early spring by starting them indoors. Fall planting allows the seeds to go through natural cold stratification over winter, while indoor starting in late winter (February or March) requires a separate stratification period. Happy planting and thank you for supporting Monarch Butterflies ❤🤗
