Frem Rojle Danish Teak Chair Mid Century Modern 1960s

FREM ROJLE DANISH TEAK CHAIR Made in Denmark, 1960s A proper piece of Danish design, not a reproduction. This chair carries the original maker's stamp burned into the underside of the frame, reading FREM ROJLE / MADE IN DENMARK. Everything good about the era is here in one small chair: a light, sculpted teak frame that tapers to rounded legs, a floating curved backrest that follows the spine, and a seat that appears to hover inside the frame rather than sit on it. It weighs almost nothing to move and holds its shape beautifully in a room. WHAT HAS BEEN DONE - Seat and backrest freshly reupholstered in new burnt-orange textured fabric, clean and unused - Wood cleaned and re-oiled, bringing the depth of the grain back - Joints checked and tight, sits flat with no wobble or rock CONDITION Excellent for its age. The upholstery is brand new. The frame shows light patina and a few small scuffs and marks from sixty years of use, which is exactly what you want to see on a piece with this history. Every mark of note is shown in the photographs. Please review them as part of the condition description. This is a single chair, not a set. DIMENSIONS Width: 47 cm (18.5 in) Depth: 45 cm (17.7 in) Height: 75 cm (29.5 in) Seat height: 45 cm (17.7 in) WHERE IT WORKS A single Danish chair is one of the most useful things you can own.
